When the colorful real estate agent Scot Savage, of Realty 500 Reiss Corp., got a phone call from Susan Hawk, the truck driver from Wisconsin and former 'Survivor' contestant, he thought for sure that someone was pulling his leg. But it turned out to be a legitimate call and thus began his first adventure helping a 'celebrity' buy a home.
Scot, a ten-year real estate veteran, worked as a Buyer's Agent for Susan and her husband, Tim. Susan told the Las Vegas Sun that, "Scot was very professional and we enjoyed working with him. After looking at about eight homes on one-acre lots, we decided to look at houses on half-acre lots. He went and looked at other listings for us and found the house that we eventually bought. My husband, who is also in real estate, and I think Scot's real estate knowledge is excellent."
Scot, himself, is no stranger to television contest shows. The 37-year-old has organized more than 20 bus trips for clients and friends to his beloved 'The Price Is Right' show in Los Angeles and he was recently a contestant on the new television game show, "The Weakest Link". As one of the early contestants before the show was ever broadcast, he had no idea that the show's host, Anne Robinson, would criticize the contestants with her snippy "You are the weakest link - Goodbye." Savage says she yelled at him first when he was on the show.
Savage helped the Hawks buy a resale home with a pool on a half-acre lot in the northwestern valley. The home will be the primary residence for the Hawks who are relocating to Las Vegas. He admits to rooting for Kelly, the Las Vegas girl, when the Survivor show was on television and didn't really care for Sue Hawk - but that has all changed now - he and Sue are friends.
Sue Hawk found her buyer agent, Scot, by talking with someone at a casino who recognized her from the show and who happened to be a neighbor of Scot's. When Sue told her that they wanted to move to Las Vegas but were having trouble finding a house, the neighbor promptly recommended Scot. Scot believes that his upbeat, go-getter attitude helps him do a better job, whether he is organizing one of his famous trips to 'The Price Is Right' or working hard to serve his clients' real estate needs.
